Safe City Project Enters Final Phase, Efforts Accelerate to Make Islamabad Safer

Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Safe City Headquarters and chaired an important meeting to review progress on the second phase of the project.

During the meeting, it was decided to speed up ongoing work to ensure completion of the second phase by May 30. The minister directed that the project must be completed within the مقررہ timeline without delay.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that the city’s central command and control system will be modernized, integrating policing, traffic management, and public services into a unified system to enhance crime prevention.

The meeting also approved a new design for the Safe City Headquarters, while officials informed that 75% of the work on the second phase has already been completed.

According to the briefing, installation of advanced surveillance cameras and monitoring systems is underway to ensure public safety, while the fiber optic network has already been laid. The remaining work will soon be completed, after which the trial phase will begin.

Senior officials attended the meeting and reaffirmed their commitment to timely completion, aiming to transform Islamabad into a safer and more modern city.
