U.S. and Israel Temporarily Remove Iranian Officials from Target List

Washington (Monitoring Desk): U.S. officials have announced that, in light of potential peace talks, the United States and Israel have temporarily removed two senior Iranian officials from their target list.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the names of Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have been removed from the target list for four to five days.

The move comes as part of efforts by President Donald Trump to pave the way for high-level negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.

Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt are reportedly attempting to mediate and persuade the U.S. and Iran to engage in immediate talks to enable a ceasefire and initiate negotiations. Officials caution that significant differences remain between U.S. and Iranian positions, limiting the likelihood of successful outcomes from these discussions.
