Karachi (Pakistan News): A threatening envelope has been discovered in the chamber of Judge Sohail Jabbar Malik, Chairman of the Appellate Council Local Government.
According to reports, the envelope contained a note reading “Judge, this is your gift,” along with a 9mm bullet, which is being considered a serious threat from unidentified individuals.
Following the incident, the private secretary of the District and Sessions Judge, Appellate Council Local Government, filed a case at Aram Bagh Police Station, including provisions of anti-terrorism laws.
Sources stated that Sohail Jabbar Malik has previously served in an anti-terrorism special court and has presided over important cases related to terror financing in Sindh, where he handed down sentences to members of banned organizations.
After the incident, security concerns have increased. Police officials said it is still unclear who placed the envelope in the chamber, and investigations are ongoing.
