Keisuke Honda’s Endorsement Deal Canceled Over Support for Iran

Japan (Sports Desk): Former Japanese footballer Keisuke Honda revealed that an American company canceled a planned advertising deal with him after he expressed support for Iran’s national team participating in the FIFA World Cup.

According to reports, Honda posted on social media platform X that the matter is sensitive, but personally, he wishes for Iran’s team to take part in the World Cup. Following his statement, the American company halted its advertising campaign scheduled for the World Cup and terminated the contract with him.

The former Japanese star expressed disappointment over the decision, stating that some companies take such actions without fully understanding the real issue. He further added that it is impossible to continue working with anyone without principles and convictions.

It is notable that Iran’s national football team’s participation in the FIFA World Cup has recently sparked extensive discussion, largely due to rising tensions and political situations in the region.
