Peshawar (Pakistan Khabar): Under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a video-link meeting of the assessment committee for the endowment fund supporting minority communities affected by terrorism was held, where a significant increase in the relief package for victims was approved.
During the meeting, instructions were issued to provide financial assistance checks this week to the victims of the 2013 All Saints Church Kohati Gate Peshawar attack. The Chief Minister approved raising the endowment fund’s seed money from PKR 200 million to PKR 400 million. Assistance for widows was increased from PKR 1 million to PKR 2 million.
Similarly, relief for orphans was raised from PKR 500,000 to PKR 1.5 million, support for disabled individuals increased from PKR 500,000 to PKR 1 million, and aid for the injured was raised from PKR 100,000 to PKR 600,000.
The Chief Minister also directed the establishment of a separate directorate within the Auqaf Department for minority communities and instructed that development schemes for residential colonies be included in next year’s Annual Development Program. He emphasized that the protection and welfare of minority communities is the government’s constitutional and moral responsibility, and their contribution to national development is invaluable.
