Lahore Qalandars Players Accused of Violating Security Protocols

Lahore (Sports Desk) – Defending champions Lahore Qalandars are embroiled in a new controversy during the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), as Punjab Police have accused the team of serious security protocol violations.

According to police, team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and foreign player Sikandar Raza allowed four unauthorized individuals to access the hotel floor where the team was staying. These guests remained in a player’s room for nearly three hours. Initially, the team liaison officer and management sought permission from authorities, which was denied due to security concerns. Despite this, the players managed to bring the guests in, bypassing security staff.

Police have termed this a clear breach of security protocol and demanded future action. Meanwhile, the team management stated that they are in contact with league authorities and will provide clarification soon. Sikandar Raza, in a post-match press conference, said that Shaheen acted on his request to allow family members inside and emphasized that in his five years in PSL, no such incident had ever occurred before.
